Ideally you are expected to be present and participate throughout the weekend. But it is acceptable to work remotely. However, you definitely have to join the presentation and award ceremony from 3:20pm to 7:00pm on 30th.
It is preferred to form a group, however, it is optional. If you registered individually and are in need of a group, the discord group can assist you to form one. However, you are advised to form a group before the hackathon.
The topics would be related to AI, Biotech, Edutech and Fintech, but the detailed information will be announced during the opening ceremony. The expected outcome of the competition would be a product (e.g. Website, Mobile App) or a Solution (e.g. a predictive model, a pipeline) to the problem. There will be technical staff on stage and mentors in the discord channel during the hackathon event to answer your questions regarding any technical issues.
There are no strict limitations on the identity of the contestants unless he/she is the organizer/sponsor of this event. In fact, many registered contestants are not from CityU. But each team should include at least one CityU Student.
No. Your submitted project must be built during the CityHack hackathon.
