The lunch and dinner in Jan 26 and the lunch in Jan 27 will be covered by the ogranizers.
Ideally you are expected to participate throughout the weekend. But it is acceptable to work remotely. You have to join the presentation and award ceremony from 3:00pm to 5:30pm on 27th. The food will be covered if you decide to stay at the venue.
It is preferred to form a group, but again, it is optional. If you register individually, we will arrange you into a group based on your role preference. But for better communication, you are advised to form a group before the hackathon.
The topic would be related to AI, but the detailed information will be announced during the opening ceremony. The expected outcome of the competition would be a product (e.g. Website, Mobile APP) or a solution (e.g. a predictive model, a pipeline) to the problem. There will be a technical staff on stage during the hackathon event to answer your questions regarding the technical issues.
We don't have any strict limitations on the identity of the contestants unless he/she is the organizer/sponsor to this event. In fact, many registered contestants are not from CityU.
